About Another Million Dollar Homepage
Another Million Dollar Homepage is a simple idea, and it's easy to participate. What I am doing here is selling 500 links, which I aim to sell for one million dollars profit. I believe that by doing this, I'd probably become the first person online to ever sell a mere 500 links for one million dollars. The idea was inspired by the original Million Dollar Homepage (Story).How it Works
First, I am selling the links in the first column, where my target is to sell 100 links which cost $5.00 each to make $500.00. As I sell each link, I put one third of the money towards my advertising budget for this website. Once the links are completely sold, I will have spent $165.00 of that money on advertising. So, everyone that has purchased a link in the first column will benefit from $165.00 worth of advertising. The greatest benefit to purchasing links in the first column is that once I start selling the next columns, you'll benefit from the exposure that the next columns will produce. Note: I have already spent a lot more than $165 on advertising for this page. But that's not counted, because one needs to get the page started for anyone to be able to see it in the first place. Plus have a lot of popular websites linking to mrlen.com, so that page gets a fair about of traffic to begin with.

Once I have the sold the first column links, the first column will be closed. Then I will begin selling the second column links for $50.00 each to make $5,000.00. Once the links are completely sold, I will have spent $1,650.00 of that money on advertising for this page. So, everyone that has purchased a link on the website so far will benefit from $1,650.00 worth of advertising -- even the people that paid only $5.00. The greatest benefit to purchasing links in the second column is that once I start selling the next columns, you'll benefit from the exposure that the next columns will produce. But there are only 100 links per column, so the earlier you get in, the cheaper it will be for you to take advantage of all the advertising dollars spent on this website.
Do I need to repeat the last two paragraphs another three times, changing only the numbers? I think not. I'm sure you get the idea. Basically, the earlier you get in, the cheaper it is for you to participate. Let's skip right to the last column..
To purchase a link in the last column will cost $10,000. By the time the last column is being sold, this page would have gone through over $180,000.00 in advertising, so it will be worth spending $10,000 because this website will be quite popular by that time. Once I have completely sold the last column, I will have spent an additional $330,000.00 on advertising for this web page. So everyone who participated will get another boost of exposure, including all the people that paid $5.00 to be listed in the first column! Not that the page will need it by that point, because by the time the fifth column is being sold, this page will be the talk of the Internet! Well, at least, that's the idea. But even without any hype, I think paying $10,000.00 to have a link on a page that has a $513,315.00 advertising budget is a pretty good deal.
Will it Work?
Of course it will work! I think the hardest part will be to get the first few sold. But once a few links are sold, new interests will feel more comfortable about purchasing a link. I believe that as the first ($5.00) column starts filling up, some people would rather pay $50 to get listed at the top of the next column. My theory is that this sentiment will carry across all columns. As each column fills up, some advertisers will jump to the next column to capitalise on the advertising from the previous column. Besides, the more that is paid for a link, the more hits the link will receive, because anyone viewing this website will wonder who would pay such an amount of money for a link. This website will serve as a great status indicator! For a measly $5.00, I think just about anyone would agree that it's not a bad investment. Imagine having your link on a page that has a combined $513,315.00 advertising budget, for $5.00? Well, you can!
Also, this idea is actually better than the original Million Dollar Homepage. Firstly, because it's my idea (of course). Secondly, because I am allocating money towards an advertising budget, which gives people more of an incentive to participate. Thirdly, each participant will have a much better chance of gaining exposure for their websites, because there's only 500 links on the page. Once all the links are sold, this web page will be up for years to come. Not bad exposure for $5.00!
The Money
Ok, so you've probably figured out that I am selling more than one million dollars worth of links. If you add up the columns above, you'll find that the total sum of links, once they're sold, is more than one million dollars. The extra $513,315 is for advertising. My aim is to make one million dollars from a single homepage. I can't do that if I'm spending the money on advertising.
